Challenges & Goals in the Emotional Support for Neurodiverse Children, Adolescents & Adults - Joshua Durban

In this presentation, Mr. Durban will discuss recent findings gained from in-depth psychoanalytic therapies with infants, young children, and adolescents. It has become clear that neurodiverse individuals share some characteristics and developmental patterns; however, the current diagnostic criteria does not account for the enormous diversity within the autism phenomenon. Mr. Durban will discuss the autism state characteristics as manifested in three distinct subgroups:  

• Congenital Autism  

• The Autisto-Psychotic Spectrum  

• The Post-Traumatic Autistic Withdrawal
